All-New 285 Conquest Launches with SureShade Retractable Marine Canvas System as a Factory-install Option for Extended Cockpit Sunshade Available Directly from Boston Whaler Dealers; 285CQ with SureShade Debuts in 2011 Genoa, Annapolis and Fort Lauderdale Boat Shows

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – October 26, 2011 – SureShade, the designer and manufacturer of retractable sunshade systems for the marine industry, is now available as a factory-installed option for the brand-new Boston Whaler 285 Conquest. Starting with the 2012 model, the 285 CQ features a SureShade manual retractable canvas system option that conveniently extends canvas from the hardtop providing boaters sunshade comfort in the cockpit.

The SureShade retractable sunshade system is just one of many innovative options available on the 285CQ that demonstrates the improved styling, performance and overall functionality Boston Whaler sought to include in the completely redesigned model. The 285CQ features the SureShade manual sunshade option, a lightweight retractable canvas system that is installed on the hardtop of the boat during the manufacturing process at Boston Whaler’s factory. SureShade worked closely with the Boston Whaler product development and engineering teams to ensure the best design and installation placement for the sunshade option.

The 285 Conquest is the second Boston Whaler boat model to offer SureShade retractable sunshade system as a factory-install option. In 2010, the SureShade automated system launched as a factory-install option on the 370 Outrage, resulting in a high acceptance rate of the sunshade option by Boston Whaler customers.

“About 75 percent of our 370 Outrage buyers choose the SureShade automated retractable canvas system as an option,” said Jeff Stern, buyer/planner at Boston Whaler. “The response was so great that we are now offering their newest SureShade mechanical system on our 2012 285 Conquest.”

“The addition of the SureShade sunshade system as a factory-install option on the 285 Conquest further demonstrates the demand for innovative canvas solutions from both boat builders and boaters,” says Dana Russikoff, SureShade business leader and co-founder. “We are pleased to contribute to Boston Whaler’s continued commitment to showcasing the latest boating innovations on the market.”

The 2012 285 Conquest with the SureShade sunshade system made an international debut at the 2011 Genoa Boat Show, followed by a U.S. debut at the 2011 Annapolis Powerboat Show and then the 2011 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
