How it Works
SureShade MTX Pull-Out Boat Shade can be extended or retracted within seconds. The stainless steel construction results in smoother system operation as the user simply pulls out and locks into place for full shade coverage, or uses a simple release lever to retract.

Installation Options
MTX is can be installed on any boat with sufficient overhead structure – such as a hardtop, arch, T-top or tower.
With minimal components and no wiring necessary, the MTX shade system can be easily installed by the average boater. A versatile universal clamp design allows the shade to be mounted aft, forward or both (using 2 units) on numerous boat designs.
MTX Pull-Out Boat Shade is available as a factory or aftermarket installation.

SureShade Product Warranty
SureShade provides the following Limited Warranty of its electric and manual sunshade systems.
SureShade warrants that the shade framework – which consists of the actuator drive assemblies, crossbars, roller assembly, mounts and in the case of an electric shade, the motors, controller and wire that connects the actuators to the controller – will be free from material defects and workmanship and will repair or replace, at its sole discretion, any inoperable components that are reported within 3 years from the date of shade sale to original purchaser – boat builder, dealer or private boat owner.
SureShade will also replace, at its sole discretion, the canvas component of the shade system (electric or manual) when reported defective within one year from the date of canvas manufacture as indicated on the white manufacturer tag attached to the canvas (tag must remain attached for warranty purposes).

Our MTX Pull-Out sunshade system is ideal for boats under 45 feet with an overhead structure. A versatile shade system, MTX can be installed on a T-top, tower, arch or hardtop for shade in the cockpit (aft) or bow (forward). Our engineering and design team works with boat manufacturers and dealers on placement designs that complement the overall aesthetics of a boat.
SureShade MTX can be mounted in a variety of ways to provide more shade on smaller boats with an overhead structure. With specialized mounting clamps, MTX can be installed on a T-top, tower, arch or hardtop. We provide everything needed for installation as a boat shade kit so that even the average DIY boater can easily install MTX. Clients have the final say as to how they want our shade to be mounted to their boat.
The design, structure and durability of the two sunshade systems are the same – all of our shade systems use our patented telescoping design. The only difference is how the shade is operated to extend or retract. The ATF automated shade system is powered by a motor and is wired to the boat’s battery. The MTF manual system is operated by a manual hand lever, and the RTX and MTX Pull-out Shade systems are operated with a pull-out/push-in mechanism.
MTX is a stainless steel, self-supported manual pull-out shade that has the look and feel of the SureShade ATF electric shade, but manual in operation. MTX cross-components can be cambered like the ATF electric shade, making it a more suitable manual shade alternative for hardtops that have more curvature. The stainless steel construction makes it more aesthetically appealing for boat builders looking to integrate a manual pull-out shade on new boat models. As with all of our shade systems, MTX is designed to withstand a harsh marine environment.
Yes, our designs are so robust that they can be used fully extended while a boat is underway. SureShade shades have been independently tested and can withstand wind speeds of 50+ mph. However, we do not recommend extending or retracting operation of the shade top while underway or cruising with a forward (bow) mounted shade extended.
Additional installation charges will apply for our MTX manual shade system if you require assistance from a dealer or marine service technician (estimated 2-3 hours). MTX can be installed as a DIY project by a private boat owner with basic installation skills. SureShade provides full instructions and necessary parts for installation with every shade kit.
The SureShade MTX Pull-Out shade systems can be ordered directly through your dealer (if installation services are needed) or boaters may purchase directly from SureShade if installing as a DIY project. SureShade will coordinate directly with local boat dealers or private boaters for selection of shade top and type of installation. SureShade MTX is also available on select new boat models as a factory installed option/feature.
