Discover Boating on the Delaware Initiative Teams with Marinas, Yacht Clubs, Marine Businesses and Associations to Promote Recreational Boating on the Delaware River
The SureShade team is proud to support National Marina Day on the Delaware, an event uniting Delaware River marinas and marine businesses to celebrate the boating lifestyle on Saturday on June 8, 2013. The host locations for the event will be Penn’s Landing Marina in Philadelphia, PA and Wiggins Park Marina in Camden, NJ.
In association with the national event produced by the Association of Marina Industries and Discover Boating, National Marina Day on the Delaware is designed to grow recreational boating on the Delaware River. The event will feature a variety of land and on-water activities, including: boat parade, free schooner boat rides, boat safety vessel checks, youth fishing activities, new boater information and more.
The SureShade business was inspired by a lifetime of boating on the Delaware River and the local waterway remains the company’s home port today. As such, SureShade co-founders Dana and Ron Russikoff have worked in association with the Pennsylvania Environmental Society Council to become Ambassadors for the Delaware River and launch “Discover Boating on the Delaware”, leveraging National Marina Day as the first event in support of Delaware River growth initiatives.
In addition to serving on the organizing committee, SureShade is also a company sponsor of the National Marina Day on the Delaware event.
“National Marina Day on the Delaware gives marinas and marine businesses the opportunity to team up for a bigger event than they would have been able to hold on their own,” said Dana Russikoff, co-founder and business leader for SureShade. “We believe that a collective effort focusing on a specific waterway will result in more visibility for recreational boating in general, thereby further supporting the business of boating.”
