Sea Ray 470 SundancerMarineMax Fort Myers completes aftermarket installation of SureShade automated boat shade on 470 Sundancer provides easy access to more shade in the cockpit

In recent years Sea Ray has become the leading boat builder when it comes to the number of models offering SureShade retractable sunshade systems. In fact, as of April 2016, our patented telescoping sunshades are available as a factory installed option on 11 new boat models in the Sea Ray portfolio (and counting!

As Sea Ray unveils new innovative designs to popular models in their boat line they are choosing to showcase SureShade as an integral feature – seamlessly extending sun protection from the hardtop and giving boaters the choice of shade or no shade.

Aftermarket SureShade Installs on Sea Ray Boats

The popularity of new models offering SureShade has created big demand for aftermarket installations on Sea Ray boats.

In addition to selling our shade as an option on new boats, many boat dealers offer clients an aftermarket installation of SureShade on existing boat models. Boaters can get the same quality shade systems offered at the factory on new models installed on their boat as an upgrade!

SureShade solves the problem of adequate shade in the cockpit of Sea Ray boats without the need for intrusive support poles in the aft obstructing your view.

MarineMax Fort Myers sells our shade on new boat models in their expansive portfolio and their expert service team has completed many aftermarket installations as well.

Their work is outstanding – one of the reasons why we selected MarineMax Fort Myers as our 2015 Dealer of the Year!

2012 Sea Ray 470 Sundancer

Recently, MarineMax of Fort Myers Florida completed an installation of our ATF automated shade system on a 2012 470 Sea Ray Sundancer.

(SureShade is now available as a factory option on the 470 Sundancer starting with model year 2015)

The MarineMax Fort Myers service team installed SureShade in a top mounted position so the framework would be above the hardtop.

By removing the access panel in the hardtop they were able to run all necessary wiring so that the shade could be electrically operated. A designated switch was then installed at the helm to operate the shade extension or retraction.

When the shade is retracted to the hardtop, the boat owner experiences a completely unobstructed cockpit for sunbathing or stargazing.

But when the sun is no longer desired, the shade can be extended for complete coverage in the cockpit.

Other Sea Ray Models

SureShade can be installed on nearly any Sea Ray boat model with an overhead structure. We offer multiple shade products for different size boats: ATF Automated Shade (boats over 30 feet), MTF Manual Shade (boats under 35 feet), RTX Pull-Out Shade (boats under 27 feet 0 installed on hardtop, arch, tower or T-Tops) and M3 Automated Shade (boats over 60 feet).

Sea Ray boats with hardtops will likely require professional installation, while our RTX product can be installed professionally or as a DIY project on boats with towers (like the Sea Ray SPX, Sundeck or SLX series).
